1. Paraphrase trong IELTS Speaking

1.1. Paraphrase là gì?

Nếu bạn muốn nâng band IELTS Speaking của mình, thì có một kỹ năng bạn không thể không học, đó là: PARAPHRASING.

Vậy, Paraphrasing là gì?

Paraphrase là diễn giải một câu hoặc một đoạn văn thành một câu hoặc đoạn văn khác nhưng vẫn giữ nguyên ý nghĩa như câu gốc.

Nói một cách dễ hiểu, Paraphrase tức là bạn là diễn đạt lại cùng một ý nghĩa của văn bản nhưng bằng cách sử dụng từ ngữ của riêng bạn.

Ngoài sử dụng từ đồng nghĩa, chúng ta cũng còn rất nhiều cách khác để paraphrase. Tham khảo 5 cách Paraphrase dễ như xơi kẹo này nhé!.

1.2. Tại sao cần paraphrase trong phần thi IELTS Speaking?

Không giống các phần thi viết khác, trong phần thi IELTS Speaking, bạn sẽ tương tác 1:1 với Examiner - họ đặt câu hỏi, và bạn trả lời.

Trong cuộc trò chuyện này, nếu bạn trả lời bằng nhắc lại y nguyên những cụm từ mà Examiner đã dùng như một con vẹt, bạn sẽ bị mất điểm Từ vựng nghiêm trọng.

Q: What kind of food do you like?

A: The kinds of food I like are spicy such as Thai food and I like Indian food too.

Dù không sai về mặt ngữ pháp, nhưng những câu trả lời này có vẻ đơn điệu, và nó nói lên rằng người nói có một vốn từ giới hạn.

Q: What kind of food do you like?

A: I'm very keen on spicy dishes such as Thai curries, soups and spicy Thai salads. I'm also into Indian cuisine, in particular spinach curry with chicken.

A: Bland cuisine is not my cup of tea, such as tofu, noodles and white bread. They just don't stimulate my taste buds.

Một số cụm đồng nghĩa anh ấy đã dùng:

like = to be keen on = to be into: thích cái gì

such as = in particular: ví dụ

dislike sth = sth is not my cup of tea: không thích cái gì

to be bland = not stimulate one's taste buds: nhạt nhẽo

4. Cụm từ đồng nghĩa thể hiện "Neutrality" - "Tôi không thích cũng không ghét"

• It makes no difference to me

• I don't mind (noun/V-ing)
